Becky Higginson, DC and owner
First off, I am a mother. I have the honor of being “mama” to my three wild and crazy boys who teach me to enjoy the simple things.
Describe a treatment with you?
I trust in the body’s innate healing wisdom, and my treatments help to facilitate this healing. My treatments are an eclectic blend of myofacial release, Craniosacral therapy and chiropractic adjustments, with a few other therapies and trainings sprinkled in.
I am an advocate of making my patients active participants in their health care, and believe that it’s important to empower them with the details of how their bodies work.
Favorite thing about your job?
My favorite thing about my job is connecting with other mamas and hearing their stories. I absolutely LOVE the way women come alive when they talk about their kids.
Your ideal client?
I like working alongside people who are willing to do the work. I like working with women who have a deep desire to live a more holistic lifestyle and aren’t just looking for a quick fix or symptom relief.
I believe wholeheartedly that the body is worth investing in. I love working with overwhelmed mamas and helping them to thrive. It’s hard to enjoy time with your kids if you’re feeling disconnected from your body.
I also have a special interest in working with women with hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes, conditions which require more subtle and gentle bodywork.
“Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right.”
Where have you lived?
I grew up in a small town in Northern Michigan where I developed a huge appreciation for Mother Nature. I’ve lived in Colorado, Montana and Oregon (since 2003), but Michigan will always be home.
What makes you laugh the most?
Definitely my kids
One thing you do every single day?
Hug my kids and my husband and tell them I love them.
Unicorn. I love make believe.
"I am so grateful I found Becky. She has been a place of calm and healing in a sea of chaos, difficulty and even fear. My twin pregnancy was not easy; she helped me navigate through with physical and emotional support. Then, being a new mama was overly taxing on my body; she eased my pain and helped me be fully present so that I could nurse my newborns that much longer. I’m so grateful. I trust Becky. She’s the real deal. Heart, body and mind."
