Mother Warming is all about taking care of mama after she's completed the enormous task of growing and birthing her baby.
The main goal of mother warming is to tonify the mother after birth. It helps to build up the mom's qi (life force) and blood. It can be done as early as day four postpartum or up to two weeks.
It may also help the organs settle back into their proper position and compress loose skin.
Mother warming utilizes the western herb Mugwort in a compressed form called MOXA. This technique uses indirect MOXA over the abdomen and low back until a warming sensation is felt by the mom. The energy of MOXA is warming, energizing and strengthening.
This appointment can also be scheduled at the end of pregnancy: Bring a partner along and we will teach them how to perform mother warming at home!
